One perk of being a scout chaplain is getting to enjoy the countryside around Rome. This weekend – for a change! – I was out with the scouts … this time with the rovers of my scout group Roma 14. We stayed the night at the Casale della Vedova (practical info here) just outside Nazzano, within the Riserva Naturale Regionale Nazzano Tevere-Farfa (website here). The town itself, complete with 13th century castle and a small borgo just outside, today is a small comune of just under 1500 inhabitants.
While brewing the coffee on a camping stove, I decided to enjoy the gorgeous view out of the window of the casale. The sun just peaking above the hills, over the Tiber valley still wrapped in mist. The picture itself is taken simply with my phone.
